Based on the context of New Liberal Arts construction in China, this paper analyzes the ecological problems and challenges currently faced by English majors, including changes in social demand, technological impact, and homogenized development. It proposes that the construction of English micro-majors at local universities should be promoted from four aspects: ecological positioning of the reform, curriculum system development, faculty development, and industry collaboration. It is hoped that this may provide new insights for the transformation and development of English majors at local universities in China, enhancing interdisciplinary integration, improving industry adaptability, and more effectively integrating into and serving local economic and social development.
