Author(s):

Sayan Mukherjee and Rajnath Bhatt

Abstract:

The collection of stories in Thakurmar Jhuli has been passed down from generation and remains ingrained in the cultural fabric of Bengal. As we try to investigate the relevance of Thakurmar Jhuli in contemporary society, it is essential to understand how the stories resonate and contribute to our modern life.  Published in 1907 with an introduction written by Kobiguru Rabindranath Tagore, Thakurmar Jhuli was a much-needed instrument to revive the folk literature of Bengal.
