Abstract:

Oscillation is a metaphor used to show tide and ebb of emotions in the interpersonal relationships. It also symbolises instability, indecisiveness and the changes occur in the life a person when tested in different circumstances, it also means moving forward and backward from one position to another to retain individual freedom and societal security. While making any decision in life, we give thoughts to our thought sometimes resulting in reverting decisions. Vineeta, a major and most important catalyst in the novel faces oscillation of interpersonal relationship. The oscillation she faces are the reflections of her own inner conflict in the world of relationships.
