The aim of this paper is to examine Swaminathan's and his friends' early years and child psychology in R.K. Narayan’s novel Swami and Friends. A child's naiveté is encompassed in the adventures, excursions, splits, battles, and carefree lounging in the middle of nature. R.K. Narayan's translucent creation is demonstrated by the cleverness, moral character traits, and actions of the young characters. All of the young people in the book are thoroughly examined, as is their interaction with the outside world. Swami and his pals exhibit all of the typical behaviors of young children. They are fascinated by toys, and they want to share their home and other experiences with each other. Exam anxiety is common among them, and in order to embody the values of childhood, they emphasize their love of cricket, their contempt for schooling, etc. Through the story of Swami and Friends and from a child's perspective, which depicts the defeated heights of simplicity and creativity, the paper would explore Narayan's imaginary world.
