Abstract:

This dissertation looks at how using games in language teaching is helpful for improving students' speaking skills. It points out the problems with traditional teaching methods that fail to engage students and enhance their oral communication abilities. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study gathered qualitative data from student interviews and classroom observations. Additionally, quantitative data from pre-and post-intervention speaking tests provided clear results. The results showed that there was a notable increase in students' speaking skills, with 75% of participants showing better fluency and confidence when speaking after the intervention. This indicates that game-based learning creates a more interactive and engaging environment for language learning. These findings highlight the need for new teaching methods in education, especially in healthcare, where good communication is essential for dealing with patients and working with other professionals. The outcomes of this study go beyond just language teaching; they promote the use of fun learning methods in various educational settings and stress the importance of educators adjusting to the current needs and preferences of students. By enhancing the link between teaching methods and speaking skills, this research adds to the discussion on effective language teaching strategies and emphasizes the importance of engaging, interactive learning experiences that build vital communication skills for future healthcare workers.
