Author(s):

Abstract:

This study aims to read Margaret Atwood’s The Edible Women and Cat’s Eye from the Marxist point of view. This paper brings out the possible questions raised against Marxist women by society and gives adequate answers from Atwood’s fiction- which are analyzed through the lens of ‘Interpellation’. The analysis, in other words, highlights the conditioning of minds and behavior of an individual, driven by the strong societal force- and expounds on the responsibilities and ways that society tries to enforce on women.
