This research paper explores the intricate relationship and conflict between man and nature in the poetry of Robert Frost. Known for his vivid depictions of the New England landscape, Frost’s poetry often reveals a subtle tension between humanity and the natural world. Through a close reading of select poems such as ‘Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening,’ ‘Mending Wall,’ ‘After Apple-Picking,’ and ‘Birches,’ the paper investigates how nature serves both as a source of inspiration and existential challenge to man. The study further highlights Frost’s philosophical vision, where nature is not always kind or harmonious but rather indifferent, mysterious, and sometimes even hostile.
